Congress Collapses from Exhaustion After Doing Job
WASHINGTONThe House of Representatives adjourned this evening after the legislative body collapsed from exhaustion brought on by hours of doing its job.
Hundreds of congressmen complained of headaches, dizzy spells, and extreme fatigue after putting in what sources called a six, maybe seven-hour day.
With the nation headed over the fiscal cliff, there was no indication when Congress might reconvene, since many of its members had to be hospitalized after what was described as their near-total physical meltdown.
According to Dr. Davis Logsdon of the University of Minnesota Medical School, Being forced to listen, compromise, and act like adults for minutes at a time was more punishing than these people could bear.
Dr. Logsdon said that the gruelling ordeal of doing their jobs would likely keep members of Congress in the hospital for weeks.
I dont see these people getting back to work until February at the earliest, he said. And thats great news for this country. Happy New Year, America.

(53,661 posts)They are consistent in their views, they are for the private sector only. They only came to town to represent their corporate masters, but the same cannot be said for the Democrats, its NOT their governing philosophy.
Most baggers had deals before they got in, amd contracts wiil be signed before they leave office just the same as Dick Armey, Tom Delay, Phil Gramm and dozens of others. Like Romney, they have no problem stealing.
And you can bet the outgoing pubbies will all land better paying jobs with more perks for selling us down the river. They ain't hurting and people should understand that their way of governing is their way of doing business.

(304 posts)Both parties are guilty for everything you mentioned. The deals, contracts, better paying jobs. Please don't be a blind follower.

(1,655 posts)The fact is that President Obama has done everything he can to please these republican vermin in the House of Representatives and he's been sh*t on at every turn. They refuse to vote yes on ANYTHING that benefits the middle class.
They voted 33 times to repeal the Affordable Care Act but refused to vote on the jobs bill even once.
We Democrats want to make sure the middle class aren't squeezed out, yet the republicans thwart us at every turn so they can protect their rich contributors, and consequently, themselves. THE PARTIES ARE NOT THE SAME.
You can say they are all you want to, but you will still be wrong.
What our leadership does after they leave public office really doesn't concern me, it's what they do while they represent the American public that does concern me.

(53,661 posts)This is a post from a commenter on Huffington Post. It's the kind of list that should infuriate anyone who feels the government should cater to those who vote and the country it supposedly represents.

The Tea Party does not represent me, or the middle class, or America. They are bad company to be keeping. This country is better off with Democrats in power.

(47 posts)that are being too hard nosed to compromise on raising taxes on the weatlhy are the problem here.
I mean lets get real, how can anyone defend the rich anymore, unless you are a millionaire why do you care? These are tiny increases in taxes that they can surely afford, I used to think it was a problem in both houses too when I was indoctrinated in all that rightwing talk radio and fox news garbage but one day I simply asked myself why the hell am I, a lower middleclass family man, defending tax breaks for the rich? Why? It makes no sense and I used to claim all that malarky about how the rich will pass on the costs to consumers or how the rich will force people out of jobs, none of it is true. Let the scum bag millionaires defend themselves where are they out front complaining about their taxes? They aren't. The top richest counties in the USA voted overwhelmingly for Obama instead of a supposedly "Pro business" candidate. Why?
So really these teahead extremeists on the right have no business blocking legislation that would help this country move forward.... Lets help the middleclass and poor for a change...
Hope I got through.

(86,646 posts)that temper tantrums win the day, look how totally spoiled rotten they are. I say dock them for a two year pay period. If we took action like that, it would make them think about us for at least a few minutes of their tireless days pandering to their benefactors... Geezusss.
