Who is happy with the deal?

I posted the title of this thread to make the point that I think this is not really a fair question. Most Democrats would not be happy; a compromise was made with the other party who wanted a lot of bad things so I did not expect a deal I would be happy with. I am not happy with many provisions.

The question might be, "would you as a member of Congress have voted for this deal?", and that is much tougher to answer.

I have been involved in state legislative negotiations and a natural advantage always seemed to go to the side most willing to see nothing happen and that side was sometimes the most irresponsible one.

It is very difficult to negotiate with irresponsible actors and I think that is what happened here and without being involved, I am going to trust that my President and Democratic Leaders did the best they could.

and is signed.

Right now, it's still not happening, thanks to the drunken Boehner who had one too many, and had to delegate to Cantor to make the announcement.

3. You're right. The House Bill may be different and will need reconciliation next session.

But, all the Critters will be able to claim they did something promptly at the brink. The Devil is in the Details, and we'll have to see what comes out.

Not happy with any of them, including Obama in Chains, at this point.

5. They'll have to go through this again in 60 days, but the Senate Bill isn't going to change much

and will pass easily. The House probably won't agree to the same Bill, so there will a tussle during reconciliation.
