NBC Chief: Network May Act If Donald Trump 'Says Or Does Things That Cross A Line'

NBC chief Bob Greenblatt said that the network is keeping watch over "Apprentice" host Donald Trump.

The real estate mogul stoked controversy during the 2012 election by insisting that President Obama was not born in the United States. Barbara Walters implored him to stop, and even his own children reportedly intervened. Deadline Hollywood reported Sunday that Greenblatt recently addressed the network's controversial star at the 2013 winter Television Critics Association press tour.

"He has his political belief system but I really don’t think what he’s doing in his personal life is going to corrupt what he’s doing on the show," Greenblatt said. He continued, "That said, if he becomes somehow hurtful or says or does things that cross a line, we would figure out what to do about that."

He also said that the network convinced Trump to not run for president. "Wasn't that good enough?" Greenblatt joked.

Call me crazy but isn't making racist comments about Obama's Birth Certificate pretty much crossing the line? And that stunt with telling Obama that he (trump) would donate $5mil if Obama released his college records.

The way to get him off the air is not watch the show. That will do it. I never watched southernyankeebelle Jan 2013 #6
That's the only 'line' that NBC understands - ratings line LynneSin Jan 2013 #7

Controversy gets ratings. If bad taste, bad behavior, no talent, and pap were the death knell for a show, then BRAVO would be filing for bankruptcy over its Housewives franchises, esp. with respect to Teresa Giudice (NJ). Trust me, Trump's playing along with NBC as they are codependent.
