Widow of Medgar Evers to deliver invocation at Obama inauguration

http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/inauguration/medgar-evers-widow-to-deliver-invocation-at-obama-inauguration/2013/01/07/293904e2-592e-11e2-88d0-c4cf65c3ad15_story.html?hpid=z5

President Obama has picked Myrlie Evers-Williams, widow of slain civil rights icon Medgar Evers, to deliver the invocation at his public swearing-in later this month. It is believed to be the first time a woman, and a layperson rather than a clergy member, has been chosen to deliver what may be America’s most prominent public prayer.

but, to those wailing, her NOT being a preacher, Plus her being the wife of a racist (read: Civil Rights advocate) proves she's not the "right" kind of christian.

Put the crazy people on display, let the public know how nuts they are, I'm sick of being associated with them because I look like them, the sooner they get maximum exposure for the nutty ideas the sooner they'll be on the landfill of history.

Anyone who has studied that portion of American history with an open mind knows Medgar Evers was a hero and his wife a great person.

A whole bunch won't have the slightest who Medgar Evers or his wife are and could be swayed by how the media portray things.

The rest of them you can't get through to anyway.

I think the woman will do a fantastic job and I think Obama has this gamed far deeper in far more different ways than I can even imagine, like the pool shark that can drop a three bank shot and leave the cue ball right where he wants it.

President Obama is, at once, invoking the image of Civil Rights struggles, lay citizen's participation in moving this nation in the right direction, gun violence (all the things that drive the right into mouth breathing rage) to announce his second term.

This ought to be good!
