The Other 1%: NRA Members. The Rest of Us Are the 99%.

We should not bow to the 1%. Instead, we should make our wishes known to our legislators on this issue of firearms proliferation and control of our society by those who own them.

I own firearms, but would not join the NRA in a million years, nor am I a person who objects to national and local firearms registration. In fact, I'm in favor of it, along with limitations on magazine capacity and other elements of civilian firearms.

I have, and will continue to contact my legislators, both state and federal, regardless of their political party and tell them how I feel about this issue and what I believe needs to be done. I encourage everyone in the 99% who are not rabid about 2nd Amendment issues to do the same. That will be the most effective thing we can do to influence the future with regard to firearms.

and do something, they'd be worth paying attention to. They can't, though, so they're not.
