PORTLAND, Maine — The state’s largest city saw record high temperatures on Monday and the most northern city in the state came close, Meteorologist Tom Hawley from the weather service office in Gray said Monday afternoon.

“We broke a record in Portland already,” he said. “The record in Portland was 53 [degrees]. Right now it’s 56. The record high for Caribou is 51 and they’re close at 49.”

Bangor’s record high is 63 degrees and it was 51 at around 1:30 p.m. and Houlton’s record is 58 degrees and it was 47, Hawley said.

The high temperatures are going to change drastically later this week when a wave of brutally cold weather is expected to hit Vacationland.

lol, of course on Thursday, we're going to get "arctic temperatures".....below normal temperatures....

Last March, we had a couple of days in a row where we hit 80 degrees. The winters up here are starting to feel more like spring.
