We had a tornado warning around 3 PM CST. Now under severe t'storm warnings/ tornado watch until 5:30/9 PM. Lots of rain! Haven't gone out to check my area. I'm in for the night.
Still t'storming here. Still rumbling and lightning. (Vernon Parish)
Hope everyone in the affected areas are OK.

(111,277 posts)but we're deeply grateful for that half inch of partly cloudy we got in the form of heavy rain and a dusting of snow.
I hope everybody is OK and the damage is minor.

(32,067 posts)Everything is ok in south Houston, at least where I'm at. We got dumped on between about 11-1 but didn't even lose power. I think San Antonio got hit worse overnight.

(90,773 posts)To be fair, I was snoozing earlier when he called to check on me. lol
I'm glad you're OK.

(90,773 posts)I'm OK. Yard flooded but it always floods during a hard rain.
I saw storm pictures of Texas on the news and I just hope everyone is OK.
Storm is moving across Louisiana.

In Ellis County...we just have tons of run-off on I-45...It was never meant to be a major highway.

(90,773 posts)I don't blame you - I stayed inside too! lol

(135,060 posts)but had quite a few hours of rain with the accompanying thunder and lightening with high winds. We were under a tornado watch for a few hours but no damage here.
Hope you keep safe.

(26,582 posts)While this rain is much appreciated, the lake and water sources are still below where they should be. We'd need a lot more long rains like last night/today to overcome a 2-year drought.

(115,103 posts)drenched and diverted due to flooded roads, but no problems for me personally. Two of my coworkers had their dwellings inundated by water coming in either at ground level or through the roof, though, so ... yikes.
We had a tornado watch this morning but I forgot all about it till I read your subject line. It really isn't good to be so jaded.

(90,773 posts)My yard is flooded but not high enough to come in, thankfully.
It is flooded enough that the dogs are rebelling. lol

(115,103 posts)We've had years of stupid drought, with and rivers and streams now looking like sad shadows of themselves... then suddenly, BOOM!... inches-deep mini-lakes everywhere. And I do mean everywhere.

(90,773 posts)On my way to Colorado. Made it through but everyone in the car was calling me an idiot.
They stayed pissed at me well into Oklahoma. lol
redqueen
(115,103 posts)that's what gets me, people driving *around* barricades. It's like they want to find out if their car can float or something.

(90,773 posts)Probably should have been one though. (for idiots like me)

(5,068 posts)Texas being 800 miles across both ways. It didn't actually get to flood stage where I am, but the stock ponds filled up partially. They look like ponds instead of mud holes.

(5,068 posts)even happier that the ravines didn't flood, though at my house the water was 6 inches from the top when the rain stopped. I can't remember the last time I saw a rain this forceful.

(26,582 posts)That water has to get awfully high to get inside my house. At work it was discovered we have a leak by a window and the floor of a conference room was soaked.

(115,103 posts)And I've just now remembered I have a window like that in my apartment. I keep a towel there during rains and it wasn't even damp this morning. I hope my luck held out with the direction of the wind. *crosses fingers*

(5,068 posts)Nothing will get in the house, but I might not be able to drive out of the driveway.

(17,045 posts)at my house last night! I am greatful! The storm was amazing, it awoke me at 2:30 A.M. Both dogs shaking and panting. It was a long night. We are fine though.
I hope everyone is safe!

(26,582 posts)Hopefully more like that come, though without the flooding part.
