(131,141 posts)Jill finally said yes to Joe's fifth proposal of marriage. She wanted to be 100 percent sure of her decision.
Quite a story:
When we came home ... he shook my hand good night ... I went upstairs and called my mother at 1:00 A.M. and said, 'Mom, I finally met a gentleman.' "

(10,237 posts)...I've been watching the Veep since he was first elected to the Senate in 1972. I think that Dr. Jill is one of the most classy and elegant ladies I've ever seen!
PEACE!

(804 posts)Near the end, Channel 4's weatherman (I don't watch tv news at all, so I don't know the names of newscasters) was waiting with microphone, to hopefully interview either the president or vice president.
The news crew was constantly teasing the weatherman that he wouldn't be able to get the president to say hi.
When the president walked by, the weatherman shouted out, "Mister President!" about 5 times. Security was looking back concerned. Finally Obama turned, pointed, gave a thumbs up, and pointed to the sunny skies and said something about the sun. The weatherman and news anchors were laughing and were thrilled.
The next part was Joe Biden. As the vice president approached, the weatherman said something like, "I've always loved Joe. I hope I can speak with him."
While Joe was walking by the weatherman yelled out, again, "Mister vice president!" Several times. Joe, looked over, gave a big wave and smile. The weatherman kept calling him and Joe jogged over, shook his hand, and went back to the parade.
The weatherman looked like he was going to faint with happiness. He went on to say something like... "I grew up a poor boy in Queens, and now meeting the president and vice presidentthat was something I know my parents would be so proud me for!"
It was awesome folks! Again, I not a fan of network news, but this was one of the best hours of tv I ever watched.
