Uninsured in pain

I woke this morning with a sharp pain in my side and decided I better get it checked out. After about two hours of searching and calling I found zero places that could help me with the amount of money I have. I did set up a appointment with a financial person to get approved for a clinic but that wont be until the Feb 11th and after i'm approved I have to Wait two to three months to make an appointment with a doctor. It's disturbing to say the least. So I sit here in pain waiting for some appointment that is months away. I have checked insurance prices just in case. Is there something that that iv missed that says a deductible has to be 10,000 because that's almost all I see.
I cant wait for the Affordable health care act to go into full effect. I don't know what to do as I don't want to go to the er unless its unbearable pain. This is a horrid feeling knowing that there are thousands that could be helping me but insurance and money gets in the way. I'm sad now and kinda feel worthless.
I figured maybe the smart people at DU could give some advice.
peace.

and then work out a payment plan with the hospital.

You maybe acute!

Many ERs today have what they call a "fast track" it's when a PA see's you, gets you diagnosed and treated quicker and cheaper.

The first clinic is completely free but only open one day/week.
Denver Rescue Mission Clinic
3501 E. 46th Avenue
Denver, CO 80216
Phone: 303.297.1815
e-mail: info@denrescue.org

In addition, you can click on the link below for a list of medical clinics. Most of these places operate on a sliding scale. Some of them are completely free if you meet certain income standards, and otherwise they have a small charge. You will have to call the ones near you to check to see which if any in your area will give you free care.

Meanwhile, don't forget about Medicaid and CICP, the Colorado program for the "medically indigent"

Hope you can find some help. K & R and hopefully some Denver folks will chime in. Hang in there!

You could have something dangerous, such as acute appendicitis or a strangulated hernia.

Worry about the money later. Your health is more important.
