When I look at those kids, holding up those incredibly vile expressions of hate, I purely want to kick some parental ass!

And he was adopted at age 5.
This couple also adopted his younger brother.
I haven't met the dads (or the boy) yet, but I hope to on my next trip to daughter's family in Boston.

Kinda funny story:
The kid may be a bit slow.
According to grandson, his dads told him if he could get all 'Cs' on his report card (evidently a step up for him) they'd let him have an iPhone.
Most of his peers have one.

My grandson is an exceptionally bright kid.
(Chip off the old block )
Bs are a step down for him.

When the grading period's results came out and the friend had achieved all Cs he was manic!
"I GOT ALL Cs, I GOT ALL Cs! I GET AN iPHONE!!!

Grandson thought it was funny, and by his parents' expectations it is.
But I'm proud that this doesn't interfere with their friendship.

We were a team. What ever crazy idea one came up with the other was right their to join in. Many that did not know he was gay thought we were a couple due to us always hanging with each other. But he was the only one that I ever met at that time that let me be a tomboy without making me feel bad about being myself.

I have so many memories that I hold very dear about our friendship.

I remember when we went out to dinner where his partner was working. His very handsome partner was a bartender there. I did not know that it was his partner, I just saw the ring and said to David " I think I hate however is connected to that ring". He looked at me with a very proud and devilish grin and said " Your not the first to hate me".

Then the day David met my Dave. First of all let me paint a picture. David was a very attractive man. He was well built and younger than my Dave. He drove me home in his Camaro. Dave and I just started to live together. We still had a lot to learn about each other. Well, Dave at the time we pulled up just got there after work, he was in a suit and was looking very attractive ( Dave is one that can really wear a suit, more of why I mention this later).

Dave sees me in the Camaro with a stunning gentleman and you could see him bristle up. I look over at David and saw that devilish grin come to his face. David jumps out to open my door at the same time Dave was running to get my door. Flames were shooting out of Dave's eyes at David. I had to jump in and do intros quick. Once Dave realized it was David, he relaxed. He knew about my BFF but, for some reason I never had been able to get the two to meet till then.

Well Dave went to go change and after he went in David turned to me and said " Remember what you said about hating me about my man? That goes two ways girlfriend."

That was how it was with me and David. We could tease and laugh and just be friends. David helped me keep my head, in a time where being around my father was torture. He helped me keep my father's way of thinking from effect me. As many know here, my father hated me going to school.

Well he is in New York now and I am here in Tucson. I haven't heard from him as of late. I do hope he is OK. But I know one thing I will never forget my best friend.
