Fewer US troops killed, so Americans don't wake up from their American Idol induced coma. Meanwhile, innocents die abroad, and sooner or later the blowback will come back home to the States.

Of course, you do realize that every innocent we kill, every child that dies at our hands, simply radicalizes more and more people, making enemies who will, sooner or later, bring the war we launched back home here to rest. Think 911, possibly on a much grander scale.

Terrorists are like a disease that is spreading through the middle east and Africa and making its way to South America, sooner or later they will be here in full force.

People in America finally waking up to the reality of what is happening in our society and has been happening for a very long time. Things like that have been happening for a long time here in America and maybe..finally...hopefully...We have a generation of people who are tired of it and are willing to make changes to society to leave it in better shape for our children, grand children, great grand kids etc...etc...

suits us, in places that have been poisoned by ALL that has preceded this point in geopolitical time, a point that we helped create, could be just as ir-responsible as practically everything else we have done . . . or not, so I am in favor of more situational discernment in these matters.

Just saying "We can't" and "The U.N. is corrupted by bankers", after all that we have done to others for decades, doesn't seem right to me, because it's too much like setting everyone's house on fire and then going home, because we're tired, so . . . .

Crazed political bigotry against 3rd, or dialectical, anythings, derived and determined by rational situational information about actual people and their actual experiences, could also be seen as a product of all that has poisoned this geopolitical moment. That bigotry does not mean that rationally authentic processes that encompass all perspectives and thus can result in either "this X " or "that Y " or "both this + that XY " or neither, "Z", are impossible. Just because this has not happened, that does not mean that it necessarily cannot happen. It more likely means that WE did not want it to happen, so it didn't and that has a lot to do with the poison of our ways in the world.

Just because this more dialectical kind of effort has not been made, that does not mean that there can be no honest awareness of the potential for deceit in such dialectical efforts too and that would be a potential for deceit no less comparable to continuing the status quo, nor less than the deceit of just walking away from all of it and washing our hands of engagement because that would be easier and that nothing that happens elsewhere after that point matters.

My concerns have to do with handing this precedent to those who have shown, like George Bush/NeoCon Republicans, and others, that they can and will abuse it. That's why we need somekind of check on what is afoot here. To me that means either a reformed U.N. and/or a reformed and more powerful World Court. Neither of which Republicans will allow, once this precedent is set by the next 4 years of President Obama's administration.
