Frankly, I am thinking now that one of the pretty obvious "sorry, no guns for you!" tests should be checking out whether the person is an advocate for civil war and other treasonous things? It seems a pretty simple test.

Ex: Put up video/facebook/twitter post threatening to "f" somebody up? No guns for you. Put up video/post advocating civil war? No guns for you. Threaten to shoot anybody you disagree with via any form of social media? No guns for you. Etc.

Maybe have a "jury system" to review whether someone is being an artist (free speech) or is demonstrating bad judgment worthy of having their second amendment rights restricted?

Its a thought.

I am pro gun. I feel it's up to the store owners if they want to allow open carry or not. As a person who has a conceal carry permit I would never open carry out of respect for others in a store.

I have nothing to prove. I have reasons to have a permit and also it is my right to do so. As for JC Penny if they posted a no guns allowed sign which means I could not enter that is fine with me. I will take my business elsewhere just like many others.
I believe open carry should not be allowed within city limits.

I think in practice most concealed carry folk who are discrete would simply go about their business, but if they had an " accident" then the posted policy (if JC Penney went "no guns&quot would offer them liability protection.

In the meantime, no guessing games for the rest of us - and those few extra seconds of not having to give the benefit of the doubt (because good guys don't Open Carry where they have been asked not to) may save a life in an "active shooter" situation.

That is the hope, anyway.
