None of the above is to say this is a really big deal, and Democrats need to be careful about over-playing their hand. But by being silent about it, Brown is allowing it to become a big(ger) deal.

Follow up at link, Cha. This feels good!

Former Republican senator Scott Brown’s decision not to make a Senate comeback bid ensures this much: Democratic Rep. Ed Markey is now in the driver’s seat in the special election race for Sen. John Kerry’s seat.

5. Former Mass. Sen. Scott Brown to haters: Bqhatevwr

http://election.democraticunderground.com/10022295766#post5

We had a member who supported Brown against Warren quite vigorously for a while, but he was tombstoned but now it turns out this is an exact quote from Brown's tweet. That's all I know. William Pitt made an OP:

Bqhatevwr

Sorry.

We're having fun here in Massachusetts tonight.

Carry on.

And I found this. I'm glad he's out of it.

Former Massachusetts Republican senator Scott Brown will not run in the special election for outgoing Democratic Sen. John Kerry's seat, according to a Republican source familiar with his plans. Brown's decision means Kerry's seat is very likely to remain in Democratic hands.

Republicans are now without a top candidate for the seat held by Kerry, who was confirmed by the Senate to be the next secretary of state earlier this week. On the Democratic side, longtime Rep. Ed Markey is the frontrunner, but he faces a challenge from fellow Democratic Rep. Stephen Lynch, who is much more conservative.

Their national reporting and opinion pages are pure Murdoch swill, but their local coverage beats the shit out of the Globe's. Truth.

And the author of the Herald article, Howie Carr, is a local right wing radio host and opinion columnist at the paper. Dunno why his name is on the byline.

before a you can build a power base. It was only by a fluke that he got elected to the Senate.

Kind of reminds me of Toby Moffett who thought he was going to be the next great Democrat from the state of Connecticut back in the 1980's. The only thing he became great at was losing elections (primaries, no less) and lobbying in DC.
