(53,661 posts)6. I read his words there, and this lightens my heart:
I was not at all certain that a third Senate campaign in less than four years, and the prospect of returning to a Congress even more partisan than the one I left, was really the best way for me to continue in public service at this time, Brown said in a statement. And I know its not the only way for me to advance the ideals and causes that matter most to me.
That is why I am announcing today that I will not be a candidate for the United States Senate in the upcoming special election.
He is a Koch-funded candidate, even down to driving a vehicle they bought for him directly. I'm sure they've offered him a lucrative deal to work with them in other states. Now we'll see who takes the place of Kerry, since the article also says they expect the seat to remain in the hands of the Democratic Party. Very nice news to greet the day, Elleng. Thanks!

He probably wouldn't have won and he didn't want to take the chance of looking like a perennial loser, a la Romney.

Keep him AWAY from DC!
