Lamar Alexander: "Videos games are a bigger problem than guns"

Yeah he said that. Why are video games a bigger problem? "Because they affect people".

For some strange reason I bet the Mensa member in Eugene Or who had a "weapons malfunction" in a Cyber Cafe bathroom was affected more by his gun then he was by the Flaming Sword of Stupidity he was after in World Of Warcraft.

between that and from 'brainwashing'? After a while, young people just have to start thinking (probably subconsciously) that trying to kill some character you don't like isn't all that bad. I mean, hey, play another game and the same character is BACK. This has to eventually carry over to real life, only then the character is a real person, and no, they aren't back for the next game.
This whole country really seems to be going just plain nuts.

You should go join Lamar on his crusade for guns but against joysticks.

If you seriously think that playing games makes you think it's ok to kill someone in real life then there is going to be no sane discussion with you. The only people who have a problem distinguishing games from real life are people who have problems to begin with.

I have been gaming my whole life, I have never hurt or wanted to hurt anyone in "real life". Your premise is ridiculous.

Now excuse me. I have to go. For some unknown reason, I'm having an uncontrollable urge to go beat a gorilla over the head with a giant wooden hammer.
