Mr. President. Stand by your man.

Two rightwing bloggers have called for President Obama to pull Chuck Hagel's nomination for Sec of Def.

Mr. President: Chuck Hagel!

Former Nebraska Sen. Chuck Hagel's nomination to be Secretary of Defense should be withdrawn now. He delivered what may be the worst performance at a confirmation hearing ever given. He was described as "confused," "befuddled," and "self contradicting." One of Mr. Hagel's own backers deplored the lack of "charisma" the nominee showed during the hearings. ...

Mr. President:

Stand by your man.

Do not fall for the trap trying to be set by those who pretend to have America's interests at heart, but have spent the past 4 years undermining your policies in the hope to see you fail, and thus the failure of America, on YOUR watch. These same people pilloried one of their own deemed disloyal for having dared engage in an act of bipartisianship, and then when their attempts to ridicule, befuddle, and confuse former Senator Hagel were successful, now wish to make the claim that he is not qualified for the position for which he is seeking confirmation.

McCain and Graham are two of the most despicable men to current serve in the US Senate to do what they did, because they know Hagel personally. They know he is qualified. So what changed. Hagel went Rogue. He got a little Mavericky. He decided that he had a brain and could think for himself. He decided to put Country ahead of Party. Ohhhh the horrors!!!!

Granted Hagel did not have his best day. But there was no way Senator Hagel was going to win, once war was declared on him by his own Party. It was reported that he made a decision to not return fire on those whom he previously called friend and simply take the abuse so as not to make any new headlines, so that gives him an "A" in character from me. Funny how his former 'friend' Senator McCain trusted him enough not to long ago that he had a prominent role in his presidential campaign and McCain said not too long ago that Hagel was "qualified for any position he cared to seek".

Friends in D.C. are few and far between. Hagel has proven to be one to you. You know he's qualified to do the job you nominated him for. Don't waiver Mr. President, and don't allow the members of your party in the Senate to waiver either. Stand by your man.
