Jennifer Hudson's family was murdered in 2008

Her mother, brother, and nephew were murdered by her sister's violent and ex. The nephew was seven, the same age as many of the Sandy Hook victims. Hudson was 26 when this happened.

Of any American celebrity alive, she is probably the one who knows what the Newtown families are going through, and what it's like to be the survivor when your loved ones are touched by violence.

*Posting this, because some posters weren't aware of the Hudson kidnapping and slayings. She sang "America the Beautiful" with the Sandy Hook Choir at the Super Bowl earlier.

I would imagine that her sister was carrying a butt-load of guilt unless she got some therapy right away.......

That was another unimaginable horror story that takes a powerful strength to come through.

It happened soon after her Golden Globe and Oscar, and everything. We just never know what will happen in our lives.

No one should ever have to be put to the test as she has. And yet, she emerged triumphant.
