http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/devil.aspthis is kind of interesting- the page won't let me paste anything, but-
there are 3 versions there-
the first one is a fake of PH's thing, which has appeared ON FOX and WORLD NET DAILY....WITH an altered voice, i think!
it is totally scummy- they pasted in 'hate LGBTs, vegetarians?, abortion, and suicide', which aren't in the PH version. hmm.
vegetarians? hello? TED STOOGENT, is that you hiding behind the internet?
or the crazy fucker who runs world net?
beyond that, the diff. between PH in '64 and '96 in kind of interesting.
and if you read it as him talking about republicans...(most of it, at least)
IT MAKES PERFECT SENSE!!!

i found that weirdness a while ago, but there wasn't really a reason to post it...
it'd be cool if someone could get sued for using his name for that shit, but prob. paul, jr. is behind it? who knows.
too bad there isn't a liberal version- like steve martin or bill murray would be good!
good evening!

have you ever read Willa Cather?
Death Comes for the Archbishop
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Death Comes for the Archbishop is a 1927 novel by Willa Cather. It concerns the attempts of a Catholic bishop and a priest to establish a diocese in New Mexico Territory.
The novel was included on Time's 100 Best English-language Novels from 1923 to 2005 [1] and Modern Library's list of the 100 best English-language novels of the 20th century [1], and was chosen by the Western Writers of America to be the 7th-best "Western Novel" of the 20th century.[2]
Several of these entrenched priests are depicted in classic manner as examples of greed, avarice and gluttony, while others live simple, abstemious lives among the Native Americans. Cather portrays the Hopi and Navajo sympathetically, and her characters express the near futility of overlaying their religion on a millennia-old native culture. Cather's vivid landscape descriptions are also memorable. A scene where a priest and his Native American guide take cover in an ancient cave during a blizzard is especially memorable for its superb portrayal of the combined forces of nature and culture.
and True Grit by Charles Portis is a MUST READ.
