Glenn Beck Is Going to 'Change the Way We Celebrate the Fourth of July'
Submitted by Kyle Mantyla on Monday, 2/4/2013 10:40 am

Back when Glenn Beck was unveiling his grandiose plans to "go Galt" with the construction of a massive $2 billion Randian paradise to be known as Independence Park, he also revealed plans to produce a spectacular live show this Fourth of July called "The Man In The Moon" which will tell the story of America from the perspective of the moon as Beck "defends man to the moon (who) has been around for a while and has been waiting for someone to step up and do it right and to do the right thing and to be more."

But, as Beck explained last Friday, this show is not designed to be just an amazingly groundbreaking performance, it is going to "change the way we celebrate Fourth of July" so that people no longer sit around drinking beer, watching fireworks, and listening to anti-Americans songs written by Bruce Springsteen:

I just hope he gets brakes put on him before there is a tragedy like Jonestown or Heaven's Gate.

How does he know what everybody does? Does he take a poll? Is he omnipresent? Beck needs to be institutionalized.

He sure didn't have a problem pimping BBQ and grill material last 4th of July:

"The Marketplace has your BBQ necessities for the 4th of July! Fire up your 4th with the bold flavor of Nebraska Star Beef! Need something to cook those tender cuts of beef on? Try the Volcano Grill and celebrate the 4th of July anywhere! Whatever your BBQ needs, The Marketplace has you covered."

It's just that Reagan and the other braindead conservatives of the day never got past the chorus so it was pushed as a patriotic rock song back then.

I think Bruce had a few others on his previous album, "Nebraska." Also, "Born to Run," doesn't paint a very good picture of New Jersey if it pulls the bones from your back; it being a death trap, a suicide rap, and they gotta get out while they're young.

I was in a dorm with a group of Broooce! fanatics in '75, and the first 3 albums are burned into my memory. I consider most of his songs pro-American - but it is the America of Stienbeck, Woody Guthrie, and the Weavers.
