Oregon baker denies lesbian couple a wedding cake

from Salon.com:

Oregon baker Aaron Klein could face legal action after refusing to do business with a lesbian couple who sought a cake for their upcoming wedding.

As reported by KATU, the woman who filed the complaint says she had previously purchased a wedding cake from Sweet Cakes Bakery for her mother without incident, but was denied service after she told Klein the cake she wanted to buy was for her same-sex wedding.

Cue inevitable pun about this guy being anything but sweet.

Klein admitted he refused the bride-to-be, telling NBC, “I believe that marriage is a religious institution ordained by God. A man should leave his mother and father and cling to his wife … that to me is the beginning of marriage.” .............(more)

The guy says he has refused to serve same-sex couples before, but this is the first time he has received a letter from the DOJ for it. He also says he would rather go out of business than go against his conscience.

Not only do they let everyone know they are bigots, but they also turn down all the addition business LGBT couple could bring them. My bet is they now make some lame apology and their business heads down the road to ruin regardless.
