Our local news just reported on new pistol permit application with the County Clerk

Last year in 2012 they processed 168 pistol permit applications.

Last MONTH they processed 601.

In most states there are no ownership permits needed.

We've been assured by DU's gun owners -- a vastly more intelligent and handsome breed, to be sure -- no meaningful gun control measures are coming. And CERTAINLY not anything to do with HANDGUNS, no sir.

So are these panic buys all by complete idiots? Or are we getting bad scoop locally?

Further, NY is may well enact new gun-control measures that couldn't possibly pass nationally, so buying before legislation isn't that bad of an idea in NY.
