On Sunday, the Midland Daily News published a story about a Midland County, Mich., man who is accused of a truly heinous crime.

Reed Mathew Compton, 39, is facing felony charges of killing or torturing animals after he allegedly placed a still alive dog inside of a wood-burning stove.

The gruesome discovery was made by Compton's father, Robert, back on Dec. 19.

The senior Compton advised the authorities that while at his son's house, the family dog, "Miss Kitty," was running around outside.

So many abused animals out there. Left to sit outside in the heat, beaten, malnourished, killed.

Some people should not own them.

I see ads all the time on craiglist for free cats, buy a x type dog, etc (I bought one from a breeder in southern Ohio and just had to hand over cash).
