Are you saying it should be United States policy to cede all decisions on immigration to Native Americans?

There cultures were over run. The ones that survived suffered one of two fates. Most were forced on to a reservation system that is as utterly despicable as a Japanese-American internment camp. A few, like my ancestors, escaped the reservation system and blended so completely into the dominant European culture that we are indistinguishable.

On the other hand, had I been born to my tribal-clan and the Europeans had never arrived, I would have either been slaughtered as a baby, or died in early childhood due to complications I later outgrew. My clan clearly didn't have any use for weak children.
