Let them go without post offices and live by their own words: let the private sector handle all of their mailing needs, and see how they like it once they find out that the private shippers have little interest in serving remote rural communities at affordable rates.

(3,118 posts)- my mother retired in the early 1990's from the post office after 30 years as postmaster in a small rural community. Her retirement killed the post office in the region. They went to mail boxes with the closest post office 3 miles away. Within the last year, my community lost one of three post offices.
Closing small post offices and reducing services has been going on for 20+ years.
