Consequently, the likely 2016 presidential candidate has become a media darling, appearing on conservative talk shows and mainstream outlets to tout his reform principles and convince skeptics of the wisdom of reforming the nations broken immigration system. The media idolization reached a zenith on the cover of this weeks issue of TIME magazine. The publication prominently features a picture of a defiant Rubio under the headline, The Republican Savior: How Marco Rubio became the new voice of the GOP.
But dig beyond Rubios newfound embrace of immigration reform, and youll find that the GOPs future appears stuck in the past, as the great hope of the party still espouses many of the extreme policies of that voters rejected in November:

Sometimes he says they fled Castro, but then he is reminded that they came well before the revolution.
He's a smarmy little empty suit that speaks Spanish. Now he's been filled with Teabagger talking points. When he has to talk, he'll go off script and expose his weaknesses.

Thank god for that special amnesty for Cubans.

He's this year's Bobby Jindal.
His mushy-headed ideas will sound worse in a mixture of Spanish and English and will most likely anger the GOP's racist base. Look for Abby Huntsman and the McCain kid to start doing damage control a few days early.
Stock up on popcorn.
