Dorner hunt: SECOND incident of police opening fire on car in case of mistaken identity.

People get shot at by cops looking for Dorner
In Torrance, police say, two cases of mistaken ID lead to two shootings.

TORRANCE – Officers from two different departments fired shots at vehicles similar to one driven by murder suspect Christopher Jordan Dorner early Thursday morning.

Both were called cases of mistaken identity, Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck said.

In the first shooting, Los Angeles officers fired on a blue pickup truck in the 19500 block of Redbeam Avenue in Torrance. Two occupants were injured and taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. Los Angeles police said officers were guarding a target in Dorner's manifesto shot.

The second shooting occurred minutes later, when Torrance officers responding to the shooting on Redbeam came across a black Honda pickup on Flagler Lane. A collision occurred between the police and the Honda. Officers fired at the truck but the male driver was uninjured, said Sgt. Chris Rossen of the Torrance Police Department.

"The officers believed that the person involved was Chris Dorner," Rossen said.

It is unclear why police fired at the Honda.

Thankfully, no one was apparently injured in this second incident!

another way to get there if you live in that area. Notice that neither truck involved was even the same make as the truck being sought. Dangerous days.

Given what has occurred--two separate freak-out shootings of innocents by police--you provide prudent advice, but why on earth should ordinary citizens have to fear for their lives because police are hunting a cop killer/killer cop?

It's "dangerous days" for ordinary citizens because the police are pissed and scared? That should be terrifying--and unacceptable.

There are many things people should not have to fear. And yet, there is the reality. I do reality, not idealism. I've found it a lot better approach to things.

I'll leave to to your idealism when it comes to actual life.

I hear exactly what I'm saying. I do not want to be the victim of a mistaken identity. So, I will not put myself into that situation. You may do as you please.

These cops should be given a long vacation and possibly lose their jobs. If they can't be trusted with guns, they don't belong on the street.

- I guess they do their weapons training down at the dump with the other gun nuts - you can shoot a car, but you can't shoot anything else.

It has tires, but that is about the only thing it has in common with Dorner's truck!

We'll hear the same things, that it was " cases of mistaken identity", that they "believed", that it's "unclear".

What a tragedy.
