So I figured more people would click on this OP if I led with that. And it's true; he bought the movie rights to Kyle's book several months ago. But that's just an aside.
I had a surprise driveway moment. Corny, I know, but I wanted to share this: Terry Gross interviewed Bradley Cooper today on Fresh Air, and it set a new standard in interviews. It was completely absorbing. He's a fascinating person and really brilliant. I don't sprinkle that label around with abandon. It was a compelling hour. Many of you, I think, will really connect with what he's saying and how he conveys his thoughts, on a host of issues. The main focus may be his career, but it's an interview that goes both broader and deeper. He's thoughtful.
I'm gushing. The funny thing is that I knew nothing about him and I'm not even a particular fan of his. I was even ambivalent about his performance in Silver Lining Playbook, though it won me over in the end.
Anyway, here's the link:

(14,139 posts)I read through it, and yes, it's clear Ms. Gross has her point of view and she differs from the anti-abortion lady, but from the transcript her words did not seem particularly abrasive. Pointed and challenging, yes. No more so than an old Tim Russert interview.
Now, if I hear the exchange, her tone may tell a different story.

I still remember when Neil Conan was interviewing Cindy Sheehan on Talk of the Nation. I thought the interview was going just fine, very cordial. Then I hear Cindy whisper to someone she was with, "This guy is a dick!" or something to that effect.
On edit: around 4:30 on this audio, then Cindy cuts the interview short.
