NYPD Continues to Arrest Facebook Idiots

By Joe Coscarelli

Despite some very well-publicized successes in busting gang members with the help of social media, young, law-breaking New Yorkers are still documenting their crimes on Facebook. In Brownsville's 73rd Precinct, officers credit weekly online searches with helping to collect 199 illegal firearms in 2012, the most of any precinct, and 25 more already so far this year, the Daily News reports. Even the New York Civil Liberties Union, long critical of the department's stop-and-frisks, agrees: "Doing homework, where you go where the guns are is more effective." ...if these gangsters had more family members like this uncle keeping an eye on their Facebook dealings, the cops wouldn't have so much trouble with them:

If you don't support corporal punishment, that's one thing, but this is hardly assault.

Personally, I wouldn't use a belt or anything else other than words.

I would never use a belt or do any hitting either, but I think the uncle was just really trying to make his point with that kid and get through to him. The uncle could have really beat the crap out of him if he wanted to and he didn't. Growing up, I had friends who really got whipped with a belt - they had marks. I think this kid got off pretty easy - hopefully something did get through to him.

I don't believe in leaving marks one way or the other, and this kid had two layers of clothing between him and the belt.

Now if that uncle did beat the crap out of him, that would have been assault, and worthy of prosecution. But this? This ain't nothin'. Even if trumad were to get up in my face with a belt, that ain't nothin'.

And when the kid admitted to the camera that he was making stuff up, he looked like he felt pretty dumb having to admit it. Hopefully the uncle got through to him at least a bit.
