We should start a stupid legislation forum.

A state senator in Kansas is proposing a bill that would establish term limits for US Congress reps. Yes, you read that right. US, not state, reps. I guess he didn't bother to check the constitution.

Another state senator proposed a bill that requires Kansas University and Wichita State to play a basketball game every year. Cause you know, that's important.

And a third nut in the state senate wants employers to be required to rehire state reps after they lose their re-elections. (Hey, we asked for job creation, I guess this is the best they can do.)

My own state legislature (South Dakota) is in the middle of its annual two-month convening and, as usual, 99.99% of what's coming out of it is crazy bullshit. A lot of it is about ignoring the votes of the people in the last election and introducing bills to make an end-run around results they didn't like; several bills they passed at last year's session ended up as ballot referendums and they all were very soundly defeated, many by large margins. They've come right out and said that they know better than us little folk and, by God, they're just going to have to pat us on the head, send us to bed, and ram through the unpopular bills that reintroduce DEFEATED laws/ideas. This is par for the course for them in every legislative session.

It pisses people off and they get mad about it and continually defeat such stupid bills at the ballot box, but then they go ahead and re-elect the idiots and put them right back in there to continue their idiocy. That's a major paradox in this state.

And, again as usual, they've continued their obsession with abortion, despite the fact that this state has not once, but twice, defeated bills outlawing abortion in the state, in 2006 and 2008. They don't listen, don't care, and won't quit.

The people voted against concealed carry so the legislature passed a bill authorizing it the next session.

Sucks doesn't it?

Why don't people learn? Who do they think is bringing them all these issues they vote down?

Arghhhhh, it is simply amazing.
