More on Kai the hatchet-wielding hitchhiker hero

Reporter Jessob Reisbeck followed him to a Northern California music store, where he picked up an acoustic guitar to show us he can do more than save lives. Enjoy!

KMPH is the only station in the world to talk to Kai, the hatchet wielding hitchhiker. This is your chance to see who he really is. Name, age, where he's from, and so much more. Jessob Reisbeck brings you the story with Alex Aguirre on the camera.

Ya gotta love this guy. Kudos to reporter Jessob Reisbeck for his work showcasing Kai.

Sorry, couldn't resist! Colbert featured Kai's story a couple nights ago. Hopefully the "Colbert Bump" will work for this kid.

At least that's what mom (a canadian anchor baby from the '30s) refers to herself as.

Although I'm no fan of that particular type of music, (blues for me,) I can see this kid is no flash in the pan dude.
I'll be buying his first CD as soon as it comes out
I'll tune in to the first tv show he does as well.
You go Kai

What a sad but beautiful statement. He's been through a rock crusher and come out a gem.

He reminds me of my son when he was Kai's age, the backpack, guitar, language, traveling. Oh, yeah, same bandanna too.

I really, really hope that this notoriety does not damage him, but it's too late to stop it now.

It is what it is.

I said:

I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for the interview (the full explicit one) that was released with Kai, the hitchhiker who helped a women being attacked. A friend joked that he thinks he 'partied with Kai in the 90's'. I told him... and I in the 80's. I think a lot of us know a Kai. And we know Kai is a good person so we're really glad to see the world get a glimpse of that, too.

So... thanks.

He replied:

Hahahaha that’s classic! You’re very welcome for letting it be seen! Thanks for taking the time to watch it and for the kind note!

Smash. Smash. Suuumash!!!
