What the Tea Party can teach us

Inspired by:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251285365

OK, one would think that the GOP would not humor the Tea party, after the Tea party was clearly marked as a reason why the GOP lost 2012. Apparently, the tea party gets more attention,as Marco Rubio, the official GOP spokesperson, is a Tea party type, and they also get Rand Paul, a person who is far to the right of Rubio, and who has openly called for repealing the Civil Rights act.

In short, the Tea party is getting with TWO THIRDS of the speeches that evening. Now, we all know the Tea Party is just the means the ultra rich have to keep the GOP in line, but right now, I say we need to focus on the exact tactics.

I will be blunt, we need to make a counter to the Tea Party. It is the only way we can tilt the game leftward. After all, if we get Hillary in 2016, do you really think she is going to listen to Bernie Sanders?

Yes, we do not want to act like them, and yes, some of us like the fact that OWS focused on the conditions, rather than name a laundry list that would be compromised, but we do need ot organize, and form a faction in the democratic party that will make it clear to the Obama/Clinton/DLC types that we are still here.

Now, this is NOTa third party. The GOP knows that the Tea party can be treated as those oddballs (Bad Cop) but still give them the political support, that is what the democrats need to do...The diea is not to be a third party cast off, but to be the relative they dare not fail to invite to the dinners, even though they fart and cuss.

As you said,

the Tea Party is just the means the ultra rich have to keep the GOP in line

Therefore, there are megabucks behind the TP.

A left wing insurgency in the Democratic Party - it will be poor. It will get no support, no airtime, no visibility, no credentials to any party function. Rahm Emmanuel already told us what the corporate Dems think we are - "retards".

This is 21st century politics. Money talks and democracy walks. Your intentions are noble. The outcome is foregone.

Speaking of "money talks", how is that Penny Pritzker appointment coming along? She'll make such a great Commerce Secretary, since the Hyatt chain (owned by the Pritzker family) knows so much about firing workers en masse and replacing them with temps.
