Denver Police Officers Won't Be Charged In The 2009 Landau Beating Case

By Sadie Gurman | The Denver Post | Updated: 02/09/2013 02:15:52 PM MST

The Justice Department on Friday informed a man who was beaten by three Denver police officers in 2009 that it will not charge any of them with civil-rights violations stemming from the case.

Alexander Landau, 23, said representatives from the department and the FBI called him at about 6:30 p.m. to inform him of the decision.

"They said they didn't feel like they had enough evidence to bring federal charges against any of the officers who were initially involved," Landau said.

The agents did not expound on the decision, he said.

- Clearly the man just stumbled, fell, and hurt himself. Nothing to see here. Move along. Move along.

Nixon subsequently said that he had forgotten to mention a bloody handprint on Middleton's gun and later saw her cleaning that evidence off her weapon, the suit said.

Not holding cops accountable means less trust in their integrity... or belief that cops can actually have any. The people who pushed for this decision may feel they are protecting their own, but in truth, all good cops are hurt by this type of decision. It also shows that the corruption exists up the management chain and isn't just a problem with cops on the street.

Truly sad to live in a country with such a rotten justice system. Apparently the criminals are the ones in charge.
