. . . woke it up; got to watch it slowly turn and fly away low across the clearing.

I love the varieties of species of owl and that they're related to the hawk.

as if it were the bridge of the nose.

Once you see the ears it becomes easier. You can't see the feet because it is behind a part of the tree.
