What is the republican's incentive to negotiate on sequestration?

Am I missing something? If Congress and the White House don't reach a budget deal, massive spending cuts will automatically take place. Isn't that what the republicans want?

The house passed the National Security and Jobs Protection Act in the fall. It would have entirely eliminated the sequester on defense spending.
