Why are drones such a big deal?

I actually kind of like the idea of killing our enemies withou having to invade other countries. I think there are so many more options that are much worse than using drones to kill enemies. I'm glad that we are not starting a war with Iran as well which is what the hawks want. The hawks want us to use our power to invade other countries. This is why drones do not bother me fro some reason. What are your opinions on this?

if you will, of whether it is worth it to kill the targets. When we don't have to risk ANYone, why not just call a kill on whatever we want because we have no risk ourselves.

That's my worry.

1) we are invading other countries we are not at war with - what if they feel they can do the same? It is like, why would you torture enemy combatants but say your enemies have no right to torture your soldiers - what is good for the goose......
2) who is overseeing who these enemies are? What if it starts being a union organizer? would you really rely on Dick Cheney or Romney to decide who an enemy is?
3) It is violating the constitution of the US, where citizens have rights to a trial to face their accusers. Remember how the information of someone who wanted a reward kept a boy in Guantanamo since hw was 11 and he was water boarded as a child? People lie, and the government is going on the word of people.
4) it keeps us one step further away from the wars we are engaged in, so that people are just statistics - remember the Star Trek, where 2 countries were at virtual war for 500 years, when it said an area was hit, the people had a week to get their things in order and then go to suicide machines, very clean without hurting the art or discomforting the people who were not hit. No messy injuries to remind you. The wars we fight currently are not on our lands and only discomfort the soldiers we send there and then they come back here , where no one understands. Wars should be ugly and painful and generally not be something we want to engage in.
