In the city I grew up in the South, in the sixties the problem of police brutality kept on until the community organized and elected officials who represented the minorities who were being abused. They set up a civilian review board, which I have been amazed to learn that some big cities still do not have. IA is not enough. Getting involved is the key, staying on it is the only thing that improves PDs. And if necessary, the Feds need to get into it. LAPD had a Consent Decree to oversee their behavior. There is a mentality that PDs often have that isolated them, and their work is blighting to the spirit. If some of the officers don't come into the work with a psychological issue, they may develop one or PTSD. They have a lot of problems and need oversight. It's not a loss to call in the DOJ.

The idiots turning a quiet neighborhood into the OK Corral should be fired and charged. Attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, discharging a weapon in public, reckless endangerment...you name it. The remaining LAPD needs a stand down period for some serious retraining and psychological screening.

I'd like to hear what he has to say. He was an officer in the Navy... he deserves due process.

I know there are many here who agree with Drone murder policy and think people should be targeted with no trial , no Jury, no due process.

I am not one of them.

We don't have jackbooted thugs for law enforcement here, nor do we have them in NYC where I grew up.

If one makes an accusation or claim, one should be able to explain the REASON for that claim.

Thank you.

Given the LAPD's reaction to the current situation, plus their very, very, very, very, very, very, very long history of corruption and excessive force, it's quite obvious that there should be some sort of investigation to figure out WTF they're doing.

Instead, you're sitting in Connecticut chewing people out when you know jack shit about the situation. And bashing people for daring to think you selecting a Canadian flag might somehow be relevant.

.....a large police department being investigated, wouldn't it be fair for that person to articulate the specific reasons WHY he/she wants that investigation.

On top of that, it appears (lacking the specifics for the request) that this is being called for because of the second mistaken identity shooting over the weekend. But curiously, the second shooting was NOT by the LAPD, but the Torrance PD.

Now you get it?
