YO Rex Reed, you think Melissa McCarthy is a 'tractor-sized hippo'? Her movie won the weekend BIG

In addition to the "tractor" and "hippo" comments, Reed refers to McCarthy's career as a study in "being obese and obnoxious with equal success."

(foxnews link for above sentence, find it I refuse to post it)

At 3,141 locations, Identity Thief earned an estimated $36.6 million this weekend. That's one of the best openings ever for an original R-rated comedy, and it's director Seth Gordon's top start ahead of Four Christmases ($31.1 million) and Horrible Bosses ($28.3 million). It's also way up from Melissa McCarthy's Bridesmaids ($26.2 million); all three of the aforementioned titles wound up closing with at least $117 million, which suggests a $100 million finish is within reach for Identity Thief.

It's pretty good.

This review shows that Reed has some personal issues with the actress and not the movie.
It's pretty much the most mean-spirited/personal thing I've ever seen a reviewer write

I don't care if she is overweight she's still very pretty. I just hope she doesn't have health issues. Cuz if she sprains her toe someone is going to say it's cuz she is obese.

11. There's sexism in this slam. Fat male comedians have always been well received in this country.

When Chris Farley, Cedric the Entertainer, John Candy, Ralphie May, Gabriel Iglesias and fuckin' JOHN BELUSHI have combined the obesity/obnoxious, it's high comedic art. Let some woman do it and she's a gimmick. FUCK REX REED. Melissa McCarthy is funny as hell.

But I absolutely refuse to see the movie, simply because ID theft is no laughing matter.

Speaking as someone who has had her ID stolen, cleaning up the mess years later and the botched credit reports, etc. I don't find the subject funny at all.

His taste in movies has always been very elitist.
