Sigh. It would be plenty of fun for his fans. But he is actually a very principled, caring Catholic and is therefore out of the running.

On all other counts, he could 'run'. It's not open to just cardinals but any single Catholic man.

he would have to be invested as a priest first, and then elevated to monsignor, but those actually can both happen to married men.
