I met the guy once, briefly. He comes off as brain damaged.
I don't know how else to phrase it. He just isn't right in the head. Yes, he can play a guitar and may be some type of savant , I don't know enough about it to know for sure. I can say for sure that the guy comes off as being more than just a few cards short of a full deck.
I would love to see him make the talk show circuit. He should be the poster child for gun rights. The idea that this guy is running around with guns should help sway people toward stricter gun control laws.

(12,041 posts)If he wants attention let him have it, let him have far more attention than he ever bargained for. Make it a national campaign to get his guns taken away as he is clearly the type of person that perfectly represents why gun control is needed. He is on the NRA Board of Directors and he needs to be hung around the neck of every single member of the NRA.

(21,925 posts)I've walked into music stores and heard 12 year old kids play better. He doesn't have the excuse of having some kind of idiot savant syndrome such as autism where he's dysfunctional and compensates by being really good at just one thing. He's just a plain run of he mill idiot.

(5,756 posts)One the one hand I can see using him as the BSC symbol of the NRA (right along with Wayne) and Tea Partiers. But I don't see the MSM actually doing that. They're part of the problem already and the GOP/Rove have already started trying to hide all their "crazy uncles & aunts" from public view. Ted's just another one of those crazy uncles.
On the other hand I can't remember hearing a damned thing about him until he started spouting off about the 2nd Amendment, the President, gathering his buddies to overthrow the government, etc. So I wonder if the best idea might not be to ignore him and hope he goes back into the abyss from which he emerged recently. Of course as long as BSC representatives invite him to the State of the Union address he'll be in the public eye.
It's a tough call.
