Can someone answer a simple question about Dorner for me?

Why, if the LAPD is so desperate to neutralize this threat to their existence...why, if he is the greatest threat to the LAPD and its culture of corruption since, oh, A SHITLOAD OF BOOKS AND A FEW MOVIES AND GENERAL PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE, hasn't Dorner simply dropped a massive dossier off at FBI and DOJ headquarters, made a few long phone calls, a few videos loaded with names and evidence (psst - most phones can even do it in HD, for the love of Mike), and otherwise set out on a path to publicly name and shame the entire force?

He wrote A FUCKING MANIFESTO WITH AS MANY REFERENCES TO CHARLIE SHEEN AND MIA FARROW AS REFERENCES TO ACTIONABLE WRONGDOING BY SPECIFIC MEMBERS OF LAPD. If you had info that could bring down a criminal institution and you were writing the words the world would remember you by, would you waste five goddamned fucking seconds writing, "It’s kind of sad I won’t be around to view and enjoy The Hangover III"??????

Here's what I think: the whole LAPD-as-desperate-to-silence-Dorner is a stupid canard from weak minds bored with what is currently in cinemas. The dashing hero whom so many would love to picture narrowly eluding cops with scads of sensitive documents on thumb drives is really nothing more than a psychotic cowardly fucking murderer sad that he might not get to see a third helping of dick and fart jokes.

YouTube, Reddit, Tumblr, Blogspot, Google+, Facebook, Twitter: all places where a fugitive with information can expose anyone in the world without censorship. What, is Wikileaks too busy to take a call from Dorner? Kos not taking any new registrants? Is the ACLU suddenly DesiLu?

Face it, folks, the guy is pretty much what most people in SoCal are: narcissistic, celebrity-obsessed, vain, self-righteous, delusional, Facebook-centric, and hanging out at Big Bear. The only difference is that instead of kicking the tires at Fletcher Jones for fun, Dorner KILLS people. He has nothing to say, or he'd be saying it.

("Hi, Farrar, Straus, and Giroux? My name is, um, Dristopher Corner. I'm calling from a secure line. I have an expose of the LAPD that will blow the doors off the place. I expose corruption, racism, brutality, the whole nine yards. It's huge. I'm looking for a deal. I have a 20-page treatment already, with PLENTY of refs to celebs - real Q-list stuff....oh, you have a editor just for exposes on the LAPD? Sure, I'll hold.&quot

and that the LAPD is corrupt to its core are not mutually exclusive ideas.

Those ideas having been expressed, I am far more afraid of law enforcement harming me while he is at large and I am out and about, than I am of him harming me.

The notion that he has some smoking gun testimony to give is ludicrous.

Dorner's allegations are on record in his Board of Rights proceedings, his subsequent appeal, his FB screed, and whatever was on the disc he sent to Anderson Cooper (likely a rehash).

If I understand it right, the idea is that he went through his BoR withholding secrets that could bolster his case and then waited more years to finally spew 11,000 words on the subject--but still withheld secrets?

I think we're in CT territory here.

The overkill incidents with LAPD cops are cited as an attempt to silence him "for what he knows." Like cops never reacted like that toward cop-killers.

He has one case, where he tackled the schizophrenic Gettler, Evans tased him and the only dispute is if there was one, three, or no kicks in addition.

The climate of the Grove and South Coast Plaza are totally different.

My finding in life are people where ever I lived are about as vain, self-centered and interested in celebrities. It is just their taste in fashion and who they consider a celebrity that is different. To think the people of SoCal are some how magically different than anywhere else is laughably naive. Sorry but it is true. I've been in third world villages seeing women as obsessed with fashion and make-up as the would be starlets of Hollywood. The world and its people simple are not so different as we pretend they are.

Shooting 90 bullets into random trucks is just SOP for the LAPD. And pulling people over, letting them go and then ramming their vehicle and shooting them is SOP too. Nah, the LAPD are TOTALLY cool, they're just following the book on this case. Every single person in the LA area is on edge because they DON'T believe a member of the LAPD is going to shoot them without a moment's notice. Are you for real?

Maybe those women delivering newspapers weren't so innocent after all, at least according to the OP.
