Any other DU'ers tired of the "camaraderie" during the President's entrance before the SOTU address?

Before every one of President Obama's State of the Union addresses, during the 'grand entrance', my b.s. meter has always spiked into the red.

What's the deal with the guffawing and back-slapping between the President and the core rightwingers.

I can't help but write sarcastic captions/voiceovers in my mind, for what the President and congress-people are saying to one another as he works the room:

"Heheh, hey Boner! That time you and M. Mc A-Hole vowed to obstruct me every step of the way and Make Me a One Term President?!--that was CLASSIC! Love Your Work!"

"And hey, what about the time you all implicitly questioned my citizenship?! Bwahahaha!-Another Knee-Slapper!! Keep it up, babe, LOVE your Work!!!"
"Ho Ho Ho- so many memories".

As if the President and Boner playing a round of golf puts them in some kind of club together. As if the former really wants to get along with the latter. He only acts like it when the cameras are rolling.

Sorry, just had to vent.

On the one hand I want people to get along and at least pretend that both sides of the aisle are decent people trying to do their best (even if they have terrible ideas).

On the other hand, it is totally phony - Republicans hate Democrats (at least the base and tea party does).

Or did you miss the DU brouhaha over religious references in the inauguration?

i agree, I don't care for the phony "comity". Also, my panties remained unbunched when the dems booed Bush and when that guy yelled at Obama.
