GOP Has An Asian Problem - A whopping 73% of Asians supported Obama in 2012 Up 11% from 4 years ago

A whopping 73 percent of Asians supported Barack Obama in the 2012 presidential election, up 11 percent from four years ago (and two points higher than his margin among Latinos). When you disaggregate by nationality, the difference between Asian support for Obama and Romney is even more stark and begins to approach African American-levels of support for the president.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Simply put, the Republican Party has an “Asian problem” that rivals their “Latino problem” in size and scope. So far, it’s gone under the radar. But given the pace of Asian immigration to the United States—and the growing Asian populations of states like Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia—Republicans can’t ignore it for long.

and it's gonna go to the Democrats.

Asians like the fact Obama's family is multicultural and accepting of minorities of all colors.

and aren't impressed by the anti-science rhetoric of the GOP. Of all minority groups to lose, this is really bad for the GOP because they like to claim they're the party of small business owners. Most Asian Americans have learned that the GOP has offered them squat in that regard, since many Asian Americans actually ARE small business owners and have seen that the economic policies the GOP push favor major corporations often times at the expense of small businesses. Meanwhile, most have seen which party actually wants to address health care, immigration, and education reform. Oh and it looks like all the family values rhetoric has fallen on deaf ears among Asian Americans, considering a lot of Asian Americans are very family oriented.

Oh, and Asian Americans care about their seniors - the idea of cutting medicare from Grandma isn't terribly appealing to them either.

And what's worse for the GOP is that Asian Americans are high income earners and are growing at a fast pace in pivotal swing states like VA and CO. And since younger ones are even less likely to vote GOP...well it's obvious this is going to be hugely problematic for them going forward.
