I don't get how people think that LAPD has jurisdiction everywhere in SoCal. Big Bear is many miles from LA. Not even the same county.

I have no problem with killing the bad guy, and have been in more than one fatal funnel, so what do i know...
But to purposely ignite a building, when the scene is secured, that is not how LEO is supposed to work.
Of course, since they feel it's ok to light up 2 other completely different vehicles, it is the new way in California.

he'd add more victims to his scoresheet.

He had the option of surrendering. He chose death instead.

He made his bed, and chose to die in it.

This was the ending he wanted, and they gave it to him.

He is no longer a safety risk.

7 rounds of CS is complete overkill, I have stated I have no problem with apprehension, or even shooting him during a dynamic breach, if he was a threat. Burning out a secured location is not even remotely in any SOP.. for a reason.

Under any normal definition of the term, the ground is "wet". It's certainly wet enough to prevent a fire from spreading.

And even if it's not, you can be sure that CalFire already has a crew on standby. The odds of this spreading into anything major is tiny.
