All it took was one woman who cared - Pack of Hope

This idea is not new but it is the first I have heard of it and I think it is a wonderful idea and seems like it would be easy to set up anyplace in the country, especially in smaller towns and communities.

In McClennan County TX school district, poor kids get free breakfast and lunch.

A teacher, when noticing the children charging in toward Monday's free breakfast, recognized that on weekends, for many sad reasons, they had little food to eat.

She started a program, from scratch, on her own, called "Pack of Hope" which is a back pack filled with non-perishables for kids to take home. The packs are filled with donated food or food purchased by donations she has solicited. They are discretely given to the kids on Friday afternoon.

Sharing this just in case there is someone out there who might want to do this where they live.
