Remains of body burned in cabin positively identified as Dorner's...

Ding Dong, the Dorner's Dead.

He killed four people not even remotely involved in his troubles. He wrote an disjointed 11,000 word screed some would call a "manifesto", which spent its last 5 pages talking about Charlie Sheen and Beyoncé (among others), and should put in question his ability to understand reality and brand him as, if nothing else, delusional.

He might have been "nice" to the elderly couple he tied up Tuesday, and the guy whose truck he hijacked... but in the end he was a cold blooded killer who killed indiscriminately and with malice.

He had FIVE YEARS to get his word out. In the end, his screed was not as much an indictment of the corruption, racism, and brutality of the Los Angeles Police Department as it was a whine about his own particular situation. Every statement he made about such things as the "Consent Decree" were merely SECONDARY to what he had to say about how he felt he was mistreated after waiting two weeks to report something he didn't think was a reportable offense when it happened and losing his job over it.

Dorner's dead. He could have called EVERY local TV station and had them present as he turned himself into the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department... Instead he decided to run in the light of day and shoot it out, killing ANOTHER person who had nothing to do with his troubles and wounding ANOTHER person who had nothing to do with his troubles. Those actions made it painfully evident he didn't want to live.

I'd like to take this opportunity to say that to just about anyone living in California the problems that exist at LAPD are common knowledge. This wasn't about that... This was about Dorner and what he saw as his own mistreatment. If you don't agree with me, read his screed once more in that context.

And now I think again about all those Iraqi citizens who Bush killed. And I wonder when justice will finally come for him.
