Jared Bernstein has been emphasizing, rightly, the extent to which our weak recovery is being undermined by cutbacks at the state and local level:

But it’s even worse than he says. Why? Because if you look at what’s being cut, it’s heavily focused on investment:

left. I do hope that lawsuit goes through to get back all the money back from WS, who denied country clerk filings of mortgage deeds by creating the MERS system. After those monies are brought back, locals won't need help from the feds like they do now. This whole mortgage debacle just keeps on giving...

Incredible. We are losing teachers, cops, firefighters, and public services. Stores and restaurants are losing those customers. And it's all hinging on giving special treatment to people who dare to call themselves "job creators" while creating no jobs.
