Oscar Pistorius murder charge: bloodied cricket bat found at Paralympic athlete's home The Telegraph

The last I heard, he'd claimed to have shot an intruder. Apparently, he smacked her head before he shot her once in the bedroom and three times after she'd locked herself in the bathroom. Somewhat knocks holes in his story.

"Local reports stated police believe he may have used the bat to attack girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp before shooting her dead on St Valentine's Day morning, according to a local report.

One bullet cartridge was found in the champion sprinter's bedroom and police are looking at whether he "chased" his girlfriend and fired the first shot before she locked herself in the bathroom and he fired three more through the door, the paper said.

A post-mortem examination on the body of the 29-year-old model revealed that as well as bullet wounds to the head, arm, hand and hip, she suffered a fractured skull, it reported.

According to a source cited by City Press, Miss Steenkamp was wearing a nightdress, an overnight bag was found at the house and her iPad was on the bedroom floor. "It was clear that both of them had slept in the bed," the source added."

Because fully contemplating the tragedy is too much reality at once. Lot of lives ruined here.

Whenever these assholes actually live I want to do a follow up five years later. "So, was it worth it?" Even for the pure sociopath driven by nothing but negative emotions, one who doesn't give a shit about other people, life in prison for revenge seems like a bad deal.

The problem, of course, is that people in a murderous rage are not thinking rationally so any kind of deterrent you have is not even considered.

(CNN) -- Tiger Woods' personal life went off the rails. Lance Armstrong's sporting image crashed in drugs. Both were sponsored by Nike in multi-million dollar deals.

Now Nike is being reminded again that pinning your company reputation on star names is a risky business.

This time it's Oscar Pistorius whose life has moved from sports headlines to the news pages to cause headaches at Nike headquarters.

Personally, I think athletic ability is way too overrated in western culture. I could give a shit about any of these people.
