Colorado Gun Bills Will Result In Bitterest Hateful Election Campaigns From GOP In

the next cycle. I do believe what is going on in Colorado will reveal how hatefully insane the GOP is in Colorado. We have already had a number of death threats which proves why we need to keep the guns away from these same people.

Being politically active I notice how the GOP sends their little film makers and trouble makers to EVERY one of our town halls. YET THEY WON'T HAVE ANY TOWN HALLS AND IF THEY DO NO DISSENTERS OR FILMERS WILL EVER GET IN.

Our town hall had police protection but I feel a lot of police are right wingers and do not really want to protect Democrats. The GOP wants to take their pensions but that seems to be irrelevant to many police and firefighters who seem to be GOP.

At our recent town hall the GOP had three little operatives at a meeting that was ALL about health care at a senior center. Yet three young men obvious GOP and one was an Iraq war vet were there to spy on us. The little Iraq war vet an obviously a Christian conservative brought up the idea that everyone should be armed. And another young man in a goatee a survivalist aura challenged controlling guns.

The GOP is really adept at using an twisting young white men. And they are really good at using war vets for their purposes when they care nothing about their interests.

We are cordial enough to these people for the sake of democracy and free speech, but we get NOTHING from the GOP side of it. The GOP is only one way theirs and only theirs. But for me I do not feel so kind or cooperative because my only experience with GOPPERS I know is for the to say STFU I KNOW WHAT IS GOOD FOR YOU LIBERALS. My bent is to return their disfavor.

Sunlight is the best disinfectant and becoming aware of who these repugnants are and exposing their behavior is the first step. I have made it a point to be active & friendly in my local Democratic circles where we share information about opponents, their activities and how to beat them. Keeping an eye open, following their activities and exposing bad behavior certainly does help - recording open meetings and capturing the bad actors in action is key.

After watching the actions of the teabaggers and other assorted wingnuts starting in 2009, nothing these people do surprises me any longer and I've found they HATE be caught during their stupid activities and held up for ridicule and judgment.

During the contentious gun legislation sessions here in CO, I'm keeping an eye on several groups and they've already started talking about how to disrupt/run the next senate elections. Identifying them and then following their activities are the first steps.

The GOP has become the NO COMPROMISE for any reason. And all means of interference, obstruction, hate, division, disruption, intimidation, dirty tricks etc is their main tactic. All discussion of anything they DO NOT want is totally out now and forever. My take is the GOP is going deeper and deeper into darkness and evil no matter how long it takes.

I have never seen such a deep level of intransigence since the civil war. They have already brought possibly unrepairable destruction on many sectors of this country. And they are eager about doing more of the same if you add up all they want and plan. The party core is sick beyond repair and evil upon redemption.

I do not see how we progress with a political party that is out to completely drown this country and are intent on installing THEIR dictatorship on the rest of us. Wisconsin, Michigan and particularly Kansas right now are examples of how they are determined to run the country.

The fact that they gerrymandered successfully enough to lose over 1 million votes and yet keep the House exposes them fully.

I for one am through with listening or having them in my presence.

If they need to be reminded of how many people have died or have been injured by guns in this state, so be it...the victims and their families still live here.

I hold up Representative Rhonda Fields as a shining example. She's turned the horror of losing her son and future daughter-in-law into a rational presence in the state legislature. Her bill on banning high-count magazines isn't histrionic or punitive, it comes from a place of experience. However, the folks at RMGO and other gun groups can only name-call and deride her life experience - and because she's a woman of color, the vitriol is even worse.

Appealing to the best in women - our nurturing and life-giving spirit - does help but it's nearly impossible to get beyond the brainwashed fools where hate is ingrained in their hearts.

Noise is important in politics, of course, but it has to be accompanied by numbers to be effective. They do not have numbers. If they did, these bills would not have passed the state house -- where they had the most chance to stop them.

districts served by the candidates. The house is occupied by a Democratic majority. If several of the Democratic supporters of this bill didn't run on a gun control platform and represent largely rural areas, there may be a shift in the majority in the next election cycle. This is essentially what occurred in 1994 at the federal level. Elections at all levels are decided by minor shifts of the voters in the center, to the right or left. Those voters farther right or left will always vote right or left...shifts of the center decides elections. It will be interesting..

I admittedly do not know the specifics of Colorado house makeup or how much of a shift would be needed to change the balance of power.

Let me explain, the crazier the GOP has gotten in California, the less viable. Colorado has the same issue (from the GOP POV that is) as California...a growing, and very much voting, minority population.
