Republican gun owner shares how he really feels about Republicans.

"If I worked for a company with a CEO I didn't like and because of that, didn't do my job for 3 or 4 years, I wouldn't have a job anymore."

I was driving back to work from lunch listening to NPR, and happened to hear this from a guy calling in. He prefaced this statement by saying he was a Republican, gun owner, father and lived in the suburbs. He said he can't see himself voting for a Republican now. They simply won't compromise because they don't like the guy in charge. The house is burning down and they're willing to let the baby burn up in it.

He gets it.

The "worker" didn't just fail to work, he/she actively worked against any "jobs" the CEO attempted to create.

And the "worker" used television and radio ceaselessly to encourage everyone to oppose any meaningful action on the part of the CEO.

The caller to NPR has that right.. "they won't compromise because they don't like the guy in charge". They have ODS.. Obama Derangement Syndrome.

and thought he had a great point and stated it really well.

There are a lot of sensible people who feel the same on both sides of the aisle.

It's good to know there are some Republicans who are okay. The rare moderate still exists in the wild.

They will become independents waiting and hoping that the republican party return to the center. My guess is that they will either die off or moderate more and become democrats. I am of the opinion that the two political parties ten to fifteen years out will exist because moderate, liberal and center-right republicans join the democratic party and split that party into a center-left part and a center-right part, with centrists swinging between the two depending on policy.
