A new Bloomberg National Poll shows President Obama's approval rating reaching a three-year high and public approval of Republicans reaching a three-year low. The same poll found that a plurality of Americans blame the congressional GOP, not Democrats, for "what's wrong in Washington."
And an interesting twist, the Bloomberg poll results aren't the worst polling results for Republicans this morning. That prize goes to a new USA Today/Pew Research Center Poll, which suggests Americans just aren't buying what Republicans are selling.

(82,383 posts)Where R statehouses get elected and propose ridiculous right wing laws, redistricting, and attempts at voter suppression or changing the electoral college to favor the Rs in the next Presidential election.

(2,203 posts)lost its freaking mind. We are overcome with idiots who want to destroy a great state. Destroy our fantastic higher education system, not to mention the local level schools, destroy the safety net for the unemployed and destitute. Next on the block will be reproductive rights I suspect. Right wing advocates will not rest or be happy until the entire state is Raging Red. I hate what my state has become. I am surrounded by idiots in my rural part of NC....

(7,403 posts)In Wisconsin the Republicans controlled the legislature following the 2010 election. One of the first acts was to gerrymander the legislative districts. Then, after a number of recall elections the Democrats gained control of the Wisconsin Senate but the damage was already done. While Obama won the State by 8 points the Republicans were able to regain control of the Wisconsin Senate thanks to these gerrymandered districts. And this happened in all kinds of States which means that we have to live with this for 10 years. And this is what makes the 2010 election such a disaster -- it has 10 years of consequences.

(2,088 posts)to gut everything for the GOP before they are voted out of office. Unfortunately, they adopted Dean's 50 state strategy and have doubled down on the states they own. WI, MI, OH, PA they do not own.

(6,045 posts)And I know there are other Red States but it is then mentality of most Southerners that is shared by other Red States that has caused the USA problems from almost day one...It has always surrounded race & in the last few decades religion...These people impede progress on almost all the major issues.
We are being held hostage by Rural America!! It really sucks!!

(5,106 posts)progress; the US falls back due to the fears of those who want to cling to an ancient biblical philosophy and the politicians who cater to them. Although an Agnostic, I often wonder why it never occurs to the religious right that "God's mysterious ways" might be working to allow mankind to progress into the modern world?

(31,706 posts)...for the rushpublicans public opinion means jack shit. They're owned and controlled by their big money backers...and that's whose voices matter. Also many of the teabaggers are from crimson red areas where you can turn that poll upside down and it'd be an accurate read from the gerrymandered districts they represent.
Americans haven't been buying rushpublican bullshit for a long time...but there's enough concentrations that have put them in power in state governments that enabled the gerrymandering and encourages the gridlock. Rushpublicans want to destroy the federal government. Their games won't change until they start losing on the state level...a big, big goal for the Democrats in 2014...

(274 posts)Majority of the State Senate and House are Democrats.
We expect to keep it through 2022 and beyond.
The next step is the federal level of morons . That means Cory Gardner, Mike Coffmann, Scott Tipton and Doug Lamborn.
Lamborn can stink in El Paso Fundyland for all I care. But for the betterment of the district represented, I would recommend a Democrat.

(4,982 posts)All of it has served to give fuel to the Republican War In The States (which is primarily where they've decided to wage the bulk of their RWNJ Teabilly war it seems).
It is IMPERATIVE that Democrats fight tooth and nail to regain blue control of the states from the Grand Old Psychopath party in 2014.
GET. THE. RED. OUT.
